Webby Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I am seriously considering doing some sprints or hillclimbs next year in the Westie. I've been reading a lot about how to get started but am a little confused as to what I would need to do to the car. She is a 1990 SEiW factory built with a 2l Pinto with 40 dcoes and lumnition electronic ignition. She runs clam shells, single loop chrome roll bar, 4 point belts and I have some 4 pot wilfords to fit. Apart from that everything else is standard from what I can see. Presumably WSCC is MSA affiliated so I'm ok from that point of view to apply for a licence. But what would I need to do to the car to pass scrutineering and start competing. This is more for fun than anything else and I'm not out to break the land speed record. It would also need to be done on a tight budget. All advice appreciated Quote
stewart pickles Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 change the roll bar to rac spec bar, yellow tape every 6 inch or so on battery earth lead and mark the off position on your ignition switch and your good to go Quote
Mark Stanton Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 QUOTE change the roll bar to rac spec an excellent idea although not mandatory for road-going class. Download a WSCC Beginners Guide - its got a large section on going through scruting Quote
