What age does dementia kick in?

reminds me a bit of the story of my mum (who was suffering quite severe post-natal depression) pushed my baby sister in the pram to the local shop.  did her shopping, got home and thought - Im sure ive forgotten something?  fortunately this was in the days when the local shop keeper knew your name, so he phoned her up to inform her that she had left her daughter at the shops.

My brother works at the Heath Hospital in Cardiff and parks on the streets outside, came back at the end of the day and found the car gone.  Reported to Police, contacted insurance, filled in form and about 5 days later remembered where he had parked it was a different street  :durr:  :durr:  :durr:

Police said it was a common thing, shows how much checking they do though, car was fine not a mark which is something considering Cardiff and a weekend were involved.  :bangshead:  :bangshead:
