scott beeland Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Attention Boxter (S) owners.... I am after some info regarding running/ seriving costs as a weekend toy car. Due to a rapidly degenerating lower back injury I might be forced into swapping the VXT for something with more adjustable/ forgiving seating....so I'm thinking Boxter. Any advice re costs/ buying/ private vs dealer would be appreciated. Ta Quote
skOOby Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Our Boxster often returns 28mpg - not bad really - I believe the S is bit more economical still. Service intervals are long - but I believe pricey from main dealers - think most peoples advice would be to find a good independent garage. Might be worth having a sniff round here: http://forums.tipec.net/ skOOby Quote
windy Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Scott get yourself a Probax seat for your VX - might be worth a try first? Quote

twcullen Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Its not a boxer its a BOXSTER! Have a look here http://www.boxa.net/forum/ all your questions will be answered. Great cars by the way, I have had 3! Quote
hilux Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Try a Porsche 951 (944 Turbo) You`ll get a cracker for Boxster money. There`s not a lot that will stay with a good `un (especially a Boxster) and the seats are super comfy (I have back issues too) Not that I`m biased of course Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Scott buy a Tamora nearest thing you will get to a practical use all year round Westfield. I wished I'd bought one years ago the seats are super comfortable with loads of room even with a fat git like me sat in it. Proper roof, big boot, weighs 1050kg and has 350bhp, even get 26mpg on a run. There are a couple of nice 2004 years on P/Heads Quote
neilb Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 goodness me scott, stop trying to impress kate so much and your back will fine Quote
Gromit Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Back injury....................then stop jumping off the b****y wardrobe then. Quote
scott beeland Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 Lol....ta ....Tamora not for me...Boxter is on the list of " must have" cars so this is why I am swaying towards them as replacement. The Probax seat might help once I'm in the car...but getting out of the VX is gettin' tricky and am gonna go try a Boxter next week to see how we get on Quote
