studbuckle Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Fantastic day at the hill for the final meet of the year. Loads of shots going in the gallery but I thought it was awfully nice of team Flymo to punt it off right in front of us Quote
Terry Everall Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Whoops Farmhouse gravel bites again Quote
Blatman Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Looks like a set of Colway F2's on the front. Any particular reason for that tyre choice? Quote
V 8 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Was a pair of dunlop cr311 radials as we had been suffering severe understeer and graining on the slicks all year. Very impressed. If I was in "F" I would be using these instead of the 888's. A good tip from Tony brumfield. Cheaper than slicks too. No understeer and as grippy as the slicks IMHO Quote
V 8 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Shocked me aswell, we tried some A24 compound slicks first, as we thought that the fronts were *too* soft, had no grip at all. Fine on a trackday when a lap or two had gone, but rubbish on a sprint/hillclimb. Quote
RWDKurt Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Great pics Simon - shame the driver's so easily identified! I got a telling off from an official for gravelling the circuit on the way up the hill for my troubles too... Fortunately for me, our number one driver also had some issues with corner entry speed earlier in the day on the approach to Orchard, so I consider myself in hallowed company. ;-) Front tyres seem really good - especially for the the money. We'd also took a little more castor off before the event, so that may have helped too Quote
stewart pickles Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 And the time was??????? look's like a 57 to me tel Quote
RWDKurt Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Sadly not! Tommo did a 60.43 - I did 60.70. A long way off Tim Coventry's class record which is in the 58s Quote
stewart pickles Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 60.43 with a visit to the kitty litter well done should have terry next year with a clean run Quote
