markcoopers Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 So Exeter kit car show is finally upon us, the last bash of the season and perfect to finalise your christmas present list. We don't have an area as such, all Kit cars park together in Exeter, but if anyone is going, does anyone want the flags to errect and collect afterwards? I can be pm'ed or 0797 3326642, cheers Mark. As the nights draw in and thoughts of a dull winter creep into your mind, there’s an indoor event for the whole family that will brighten things up. Fast and furious adrenalin rides, stunning replica super cars and new car launches from some of the 50 manufacturers showcasing their beautiful cars will make for an action packed indoor weekend. Sponsored by Footman James insurance, this year will mark the fourteenth Great Western Kit & Car Builder Show as it returns to Exeter Westpoint indoor arena on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November, giving visitors a window into the very best of the UK’s kit car motoring industry. With many manufacturers using the show as a launch pad each year for new cars, visitors can also look forward to a selection of exciting motoring attractions. Motorcycle stunt rider Kevin Carmichael will thrill the crowds with spectacular wheelies and breathtaking stunts while visitors can experience the pro drivers in full swing by hitching a ride in a Westfield Sportscar for an adrenalin-packed slalom ride around the HSBC Arena. The Great Western Kit and Car Builder Show 2008 takes place at Exeter Westpoint on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November from 10am to 5pm on both days. Admission: £10 for adults and £2 for children 12 years and under. Kit Car Drivers with their cars enter free! Contact European Promotions 01233 713 878 or visit the website at www.kitcar-shows.co.uk for a show guide. Quote

Barry Ashcroft Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 You have the date wrong Mark its Novenber not October and I've got a wedding so can't go Quote
samcooke Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 I reckon that flyer was written by the same bloke who did the one for my local chinese takeaway. Quote
markcoopers Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 Yes date has been mentioned by a few......... a quick call to barny I think to get it changed....umless anyone on here can tell me how to change it....I struggled. Quote
markcoopers Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 Now then, we have been offered an indoor "club" stand, for us to show of a member’s car and promote the club. The catch is that it must be on the stand by Saturday 9.00am and not able to leave until Sunday 4.00pm. We should be able to organise the removal overnight if it is the owners wish, but so long as we have a car back on the stand by Sunday 9.00am. So all you Chaps and chapess thinking about attending, any of you want the proud opportunity to show off your car? In addition, are their any volunteers to help with this for the weekend, look after a flag or two, hand out flyers and talk to prospective and existing members about the cars? The club would cover reasonable expenses and would be indebted to you for your help? I can get flags to Devon (east) by the mid to late October, and would collect them over the festive season when I’m next in the area. Call for a chat on 0797 3326642 if you feel you can help. Quote

Sirius Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Sorry just caught up on this thread. Mark - unfortunately I don't know which day I am coming and my car is far from 'concours' condition. I also live on the surrey/hampshire border so not much use for flag carrying. Quote
markcoopers Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Now i'll be down with flags etc, but the car i had lined up has unfortunately falling through, so does anyone else have a car that we can put on the stand for the weekend. 3 free pases and the odd beer token in exchange? Quote
ray5wood Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 i don't suppose my old swept wing 91seiw qualifies for the free beer vouchers does it I suppose you are after a nice neat modern car (spits on ground) ahhh well i will leave it int garage then... Quote
markcoopers Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Why not, your a member, your car is a legitamate westfield, I would be proud to have it on the stand. Not everyone has deep pockets and bling, so an honest older car would be just fine in my book. Quote
