John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Tell me about it. Depressing isnt it Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Depressing. Nah, love dark nights in the Westfield, the blue flashes that go with over run pops and bangs show up soooo much better at night. Quote
bhouse Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 the blue flashes that go with over run pops and bangs show up soooo much better at night. and so do the blue flashes in the rear view mirror! Quote
Norman Verona Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Wasn't dark till 8:30 here. Looking out the window I can see a sky the likes of which I've only seen in Disney films Full moon will be up soon and if it's like last night it will be like daylight with razor sharp shadows from the moonlight. I may even go for a walk. Quote
V8grunt Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 It wouldn't be so bad if we had had, a Summer, I was out in "Grunt" yesterday to charge his battery and it was like a summers day, Unfortunately today I have been stuffed with a pain in my left shoulder that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! So my trip to the "Stafford Show" was curtailed! If Norman reads this thread...what was your summer like in France Norm? Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 And the clocks go back next month..... Yippee . The darker nights basically bring to a close 2 s***e summers, Is next year gonna be the same? My next question: whats the point of me having a Westfield anymore? I've only done 1500 miles this year, 1200 miles to Le-Mans(it rained there as you can see in my picture) and couple of hundred on the great north run Buzz Quote
Norman Verona Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 We've not had a good summer. BUT it's not been as bad as the UK. A good summer is 27c rising to 40c and no cloud from June 1st to mid/late October apart from an odd day of cloudy sky and maybe a shower. It's been a lot cloudier this year (and last) but, whilst it has rained, it hasn't been as bad as the UK. We are due (according to France Meteo) a cloudless week and lots of sun so far so good, I'm outside sitting in the sunshine, coating 480 terracotta tiles with linseed oil. Quote
pistonbroke Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I'm outside plucking rotten apples from the trees. usually we have more apples than the doctor but due to the fantastic "Summer" climate wev'e had here in Wigan there are very few "eaters" Quote
combatsapph Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Took my Westfield out for the first time last night :-) I think I could land planes with my headlamps though - I think they might just need adjusting :-) Quote
Norman Verona Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Apples, we've got THOUSANDS! We're getting a consortium together to invest in a press and make cider. Cider - pickling fluid for the brain. Quote
MCB Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Took my Westfield out for the first time last night :-) I think I could land planes with my headlamps though - I think they might just need adjusting :-) Hi Rob, It sounded great as you drove by, your right about the lights, I saw you coming before I heard you!!!
