James Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Personally I think it should come down to the spec of the car you are looking at, if you find a cracking live axel car for what you want to pay then buy it and dont worry about it. Equally if you find a SEIW with good spec go for that what im trying to say is look at the overall car not just what axel it has. Both of my cars have been Live axel and ive been very happy with them the trick is to get them setup well, but for an independant opinion call Pro Comp they will give you an hounest appasial and there b****y brilliant at setting them up! I dont go anywhere else Quote
Carl Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I'd take a bet that if you drove an SEW and SEIW over average roads you'd struggle to tell the two apart. I agree with the comment that the rest of the cars spec / condition should be taken into account, not just SEW/SEIW. Quote

markcoopers Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Looks like i'm late joining one of my favourite subjects. Only real issue with live axle is needing a pee more often that was humanly possible. On a serious note, I would suggest talking to Northampton motorsport over procomp, 01604 766624. They run several westfield race cars and have had a huge number of our rank and file through their dorrs to have cars set up on their suspension rig. I've owned more than one example of both over the years and like others have said it is pretty hard to tell them apart. More telling is the set up and personal choice of settings. Quote
stu999 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 ...and a decent set of shock absorbers - esp on a live axle Quote
