cast iron Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Nick Algar, who is currently lying in third place overall in the SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship, has just completed the purchase of the ex-Fleetwood/Dawson Gould-NME GR55. Algar plans to debut the Gould in the next round of the Sprint championship at Colerne on August Bank Holiday Monday. He will be following this up with outings at Anglesey and Aintree before reverting to his successful 1600 DJ Firehawk for the final round of the Sprint Championship at Cadwell Park in September. The Gould isn’t the only recent purchase made by Algar; he recently bought the PlaysKool concern that specialised in Westfield racing parts and has just re-launched it as PlaysKool Motorsport Ltd. This new company has been integrated with the retained kit car portion of Algar’s old company, ESP Plastics, which he sold earlier this year. The new company will specialise in the production and sale of Westfield fibreglass and carbon-fibre parts as well as other items such as Anti-roll Bar kits. They will also provide a track preparation service for Westfield owners which will operate out of a 1,000 sq ft unit in the North East. There is already a Rolling Road and flat-floor set-up area ready for the first customers. PlaysKool already do approximately 34% of their current business on-line and Algar is keen to expand this side of the business. Finally as part of the new company’s strategy PlaysKool Motorsport Ltd will be sponsoring the Modified Production Category within the SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship. Algar said that “after selling ESP Plastics my family expected that I would have plenty of time on my hands but I couldn’t resist getting involved with the sport.” Quote

grahame Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Just read this, sorry, I don't get much time to do this these days (one helluva lot of sh@t going down, from redundancy to a house sale). I ran at Colerne last weekend with my GSXR750 Westfield hairdrier (new C5 record from Ian Gaskell's SEi historically awesome time, so really happy) looking forward to seeing the ex-Dawson Gould. It wasn't there - where's Nick? Should say, and if anyone is reading this that is seriously interested, that the hairdrier will be for sale (sob) at the end of the ASWMC Championship www.aswmc.org.uk/sprint.htm either with, or without hairdrier unit. Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 looking forward to seeing the ex-Dawson Gould. It wasn't there - where's Nick? Unfortunatley I was in A&E at Newcastle, had a gall stone. Now sorted out, but just spent the last week in hospital, so missed Ty Croes as well with the new car. Still will be out next weekend at Aintree Very BIG THANK YOU to all those who sent there best wishes whilst I was there, it does put you in a positive mood Quote
