Hi Fellas

I'm a total newbie to Westfield ownership having just bought an SEiW off a regular member (Jeff C) on here.

My first daft problem (more to follow no doubt  ) is that I'm a fair bit taller and wider    than him and so could do with a more generous drivers seat.  It's got Westfield race seats in it at the moment so anything with an inch or two extra around the hips would be nice.

I could also do to lower the seat if possible to get my legs a bit further from the wheel.  It's nice to have the seat adjustable on a slider but if a fixed frame will get it lower then I'd be ok with that.

I'm also looking at tightening up the gear shift so any hints or sources for quick-shifts for a type 9 box would also be handy.

All suggestions, links or input appreciated

Cheers

R500 style GRP seats may do the trick, oads of people have these fitted so might be worth getting along to a local meet and having a sit in 1 0r 2 cars!

There is also a owered floor kit forsale in the parts forsale bit that would help with the space under the steering wheel.. :t-up:

Is gear leaver on car shorterned if so don't fit a quick shift it'll be too short a throw, if not then shortern the gear leaver.

Thanks for that, I'll check on the locals meets  :)

Where can I get these seats and what sort of cost are they?

I've taken another look at the gear lever and it is reasonably short but moves a a long way so a quick-shift still looks like the way to go - any suggestions anyone?

Someone on the Locostbuilders forum called 'Triton' makes standard and wide GRP seats. I have some and they are good quality. He also sells them on Ebay. The wide ones will fit an SEIW chassis.

Thanks for the replies chaps, I think a play with the £15 Burton quickshift might be worth a go.

I've also been pointed towards JK Composites for seats so any comments or reports would be welcome!

best to check out the JK website, they make them in a variety of sizes. i've got a pair and they're very good.  :t-up: however, the bloke there (keith i think) isn't too good at emil so best bet is to call him.

There's quite a difference between Westfield's upholstered race seats and their sports seats.  There's room on the sports seats for a bit of lardy overspill around the hips  :p  :p  :p

I think these are what I've got in mine. Top value, comfy, and they fit a salad dodger like me.

Thanks for the replies fellas.  I've now ordered a pair from JK and bought a floor lowering kit which I may or may not use depending on how the seats are when I trial-fit them.
