Thanks to Gavin Simpson for spotting this one.

On saturday 16th august there is a Q Plate & Kit Car meet at the Ace Cafe in London.

Don't ask me what goes on there, I just know its cool and I've never been.

Already plenty of interest from Northants, suggest a meet up somewhere on M1 so that as many as possible can meet up, around 9.30

I'll be there... again...

It may be worth trying to get there a little earlier, so we can avoid parking a bit nearer. Or maybe one or both of the AO's could contact the organiser and see if they'll save us a space or 10 ;)

It's cool because it has heritage :0 though it's mostly 2 wheeled heritage. The foods OK, and the local yoofs trundle up and down on the road on their mopeds, usually on one wheel. It's a hoot...

Parking at The Ace is tight and always full, I'd be very surprised if they guaranteed you any spaces at all. Well worth a trip down though either way :)

Finally - been waiting for the ACE to have a Q plate/kit car event this year as missed last years one.

I'll be comming from Hemel Direction if anyone wants to join me on the way down. Fingers crossed for the weather mind.

Used to frequent the Ace in my youth in the mods and rocker days circa 1965, used to throw plates etc at all the mods going past on their way to Southend etc on lambretta,s and vespa,s ah those were the days Norton SS ruled along with bsa gold star 500 and 350 I didn,t realise it was still there having moved up to Yorkshire 30 years ago must pay it a visit if I,m down that way.

E-Mail reply verbatim from Ace Cafe

Hi chris,

you do not need to book we operate on a first come first serve basis, though this is the first meet of the q plate and kit cars so I would suggest arriving promptly to ensure parking.

Kind Regards

claire

Sounds like we need to get there early - any suggestions for a meet up venue which is en-route for most people and time?
