BillyWhizzz2002 Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 Liam, I think I may have bought your old car.....lol I have trap doors & baffle plates in mine, pick up is 7mm from bottom of sump & oil is on max. I never had a problem with std oil pump but when I was having engine taken out to 2.1 I thought I would fit a Burtons high pressure/flow pump. That’s when oil pressure fluctuations occurred. I don’t know if getting down to 1.5 or 2 Bar at worst is bad enough to trash engine? (Braking very hard downhill off motorway slip roads usually) Some pinto's I had rides in before I bought mine dropped to 0 bar on gauge. Quote
Arm Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 You cannot trust the gauge. To be sure fit a low pressure warning (say 20 psi) switch and a bright lamp on top of the dash and in eye line. If it comes on under braking then you have a problem Quote
BillyWhizzz2002 Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 Arm, Where can i get said switch & lamp? where do i connect it all upto? Quote
Arm Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Demon Tweeks do an adjustable pressure switch. Plumb it into a T piece alongside the sender for the existing pressure gauge. Quote
