Oil pressure whats normal?

Liam, I think I may have bought your old car.....lol  :p

I have trap doors & baffle plates in mine, pick up is 7mm from bottom of sump & oil is on max.

I never had a problem with std oil pump but when I was having engine taken out to 2.1 I thought I would fit a Burtons high pressure/flow pump. That’s when oil pressure fluctuations occurred.

I don’t know if getting down to 1.5 or 2 Bar at worst  is bad enough to trash engine? (Braking very hard downhill off motorway slip roads usually)

Some pinto's I had rides in before I bought mine dropped to 0 bar on gauge.

You cannot trust the gauge.

To be sure fit a low pressure warning (say 20 psi) switch and a bright lamp on top of the dash and in eye line.

If it comes on under braking then you have a problem

Demon Tweeks do an adjustable pressure switch. Plumb it into a T piece alongside the sender for the existing pressure gauge.
