westy Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 Hi All, My car received its reg in January 1998 . Question is back then would it have had to go through a formal SVA like everyone has to do nowadays or would it of been a basic test of checking it has 4 wheels, fluffy dice and a 'I love tracy' sticker on it? Cheers, Westy. Quote
Nick M Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 I think that pre-dates SVA, but I couldn't be certain. My car was registered about 18 months before yours and SVA was but a nasty threat at that point. I know it took a lot longer to implement than anticipated though. Quote
Pete Collins Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 Westy, I recently bought a Westie from a guy who recons that it was the FIRST westie to undergo an SVA. It's registered August 1st 1998. I can't remeber the date that he had it SVA'd but it was only just before that. I would asume that your's probably just made do with a quick look round - if that. Quote
westy Posted August 27, 2002 Author Posted August 27, 2002 interesting stuff. Is there anything in the documentation that symbolises that it went under the SVA process? Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 Westy mine was registered on the 21/4/98 with just an Mot so yours must be the same. As far as I know there is nothing on the log bog to indicate that the car has been through an sva or not. Quote
westy Posted August 27, 2002 Author Posted August 27, 2002 suddenly no heater and some sharp edges make sense on the car Thanks for the info all. Westy. Quote
