nikpro Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Just out of interest what lap times do fairly standard westfields (No Slicks and pref. approx 150 bhp) do around Cadwell? Thanks. Quote
Tigger Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Not sure if it's any use but I got a video of Darren Berris doing a practise sprint @ 98 secs. Problems is, it's a 200bhp V8 Tiggs Quote
JeffC Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Fraser think last time there in my durabang (first time on track with it) on Toyo 888s 160 odd bhp once I got the hang of the car I was lapping sub 1.40s consistantly and a few laps in the late1.30"s . seen a very quick big bhp caterham do a 1.35 Quote
nikpro Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Thanks Chaps, Was just trying to get a comparison with the MX5; we managed a 1.52 in Qualifying (poor) and 1.49s in race (Much better!) (T1S'S, 130BHP & 960kg'S) cheers. PS. Is an awesome circuit! Quote
Asterix Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Did a 97 sprint there last year. Full circuit, standing starting on straight at end of paddock access road (just below restaurant) and ending about 100m before mountain entry. I'd estimate +5s for the missing piece. Car was a 130bhp, 635kg Westie. If I remember I'll dig out the video. Quote
BuGsBuNnY Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 If memory serves me right, I was doing around 1.47 in the last 205, without pushing as hard as I would normally in tracks with decent runoff areas. Treat Cadwell with respect, it has a habbit of bending cars left right and centre... (Although I haven't bent any of my cars, I had an impromptu tyrewall meeting in front of a marshall's post, which frightened him more than it did me) Quote
custardtart Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 155 (ish)bhp 1.8 Zetec lap record in 750mc Kit Cars - (535kg weight limit) is 1.38 on AO48's set in 2005 Blade engined RGB record is a stunning 1.35 set in 2003 on ACB10's. Quote
nikpro Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Lap record in an MX5 is a 1.49.3 so we are pleased with the race times of 1.49.7, Qualifying was ruined by other cars and a spin which occured on lap 4 when a rear wheel 'dropped' of the circuit and into a rut that nearly ripped the suspension off!
