Tonto1 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Looking for suggestions for a rear view mirror for my car. Have full cage and aeroscreen, any suggestions much appreciated!! Cheers Quote
RichP Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Just fitted this mirror to my car - seems good: Racetech Mirror from Rally Design Quote
Rory's Dad Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 RichP - Have you got a windscreen as per your avatar?? The standard Westfield one that i've got stuck on the top of the windscreen is a) full of roll bar and b) frequently obscures the way forward/to the left. Rory's Dad Quote
RichP Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Nope - converted to aero over the winter - Avatar needs updating! I've drilled through the aeroscreen for the mirror post making the hole a little oversized to allow for adjustment (not quite enough as uit turns out) and added a grommet to fill the gap. I do only have an RAC roll bar rather than a full cage so don't know what difference that might make. However the chap that I recently borrowed a trailer form also had a Racetech mirror with a full cage and it seemed fine. The only change I would like is to make the mirror post a little longer to get a highter view, but I'm probably being picky. Cheers Rich Quote

Rory's Dad Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I've prised off my original stick-on Westfield mirror, bought a suction mirror from Halfrauds, placed it down by the dash and slightly to the left - perfect - except it fell off - twice Was going to sort it this evening, watched Spring Watch and went out to find it'd been pouring with rain Ahh - the pleasures of owning a Westfield Rory's Dad Quote
NumberoftheBeast Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Just searching for mirrors myself (better than starting a new thread) and the Racetech one looks good. How does it fit and what does it screw into? Quote

Guest Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I just use the side mirrors as I have binned the central one. It was always in the way and kept coming unstuck. Not sure of the legal position though. Quote
