Tim Reid Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Spray all shiny bits black - problem solved! Thanks for the advice... that sound's like a great idea, it will keep my brake disks looking great Quote
tommie Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 If you want to clean the alloy corrosion off your parts you need something called Deoxidine 202. It's a phosphoric acid that actually dissolves the deposits, you leave the parts for about 20 mins and then give them a good scrub with plenty of water. Quote
Bean Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 Would that not be similar to alloy wheel cleaner? Quote
Darrell O'Neill Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Try brake cleaner, !! my neighbour is rebuilding a SAAB Sonnett and has soaked everthing in brake cleaner... even soaking parts overnight. Must admit, I would have ditched the carb, but after he'd soaked it in brake claner overnight, it looked like new.... Quote
