Thanks for the advice... that sound's like a great idea, it will keep my brake disks looking great  :sheep:

If you want to clean the alloy corrosion off your parts you need something called Deoxidine 202. It's a phosphoric acid that actually dissolves the deposits, you leave the parts for about 20 mins and then give them a good scrub with plenty of water.

Try brake cleaner, !!

my neighbour is rebuilding a SAAB Sonnett and has soaked everthing in brake cleaner... even soaking parts overnight.

Must admit, I would have ditched the carb, but after he'd soaked it in brake claner overnight, it looked like new....
