a4gom Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Sorry, not on the westfield. Its on the ford escort (see other thread) which I am taking to the scrappers. The tank is full, yes full and in todays climate that would be much better in my tank. I've had a pipe down the filler cap but its a plastic pipe with two bends before it drops into the tank so not much hope of getting in from there. Anyone done it, got a cunning plan. Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 If it's going to the scrappers, why not just cut away the plastic pipe with 2 bends close to the tank, then just shove your syphon straight in, you obviously dont have to worry about any damage to the surrounding area, so just go for it, either that or disconnect the outlet pipe. dombanks Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 this isnt the best thing to do but could you not just very very carefully drop the tank off the car. my sierra donnor had some left in that i couldnt siphen off. it was only held on by a couple of straps and bolts i supported it all on a troly jack and then let it down gently. Kevin Wood Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Safest way, IMHO, is to connect a length of fuel hose to the fuel pump output, other end in another car's tank and then apply 12v to the fuel pump and let it pump the contents out. Kevin Quote

Yeah but dont forget a FULL tank will be heavy Quote
