pistonbroke Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Ta! for the heads up I love to hear Moss , hes'e a British Icon and was a real character in his day. He never won a world championship, but could have won so many if he had only driven for a works team Fangio won 5 world championships I would have given me hind teeth to have seen them both race , never found out until years to late that the British GP used to be held at Aintree, just 10 miles up the road from St Helens were I used to live No TV coverage them days , not much media coverage at all . Morbius Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Tomorrow afternoon at 1630hrs or repeated friday at 2300hrs Don't know why, sure he's a nice bloke, but I find Matthew Parris , a tad annoying Don't know what you mean... ... all right so he's got a face some people would want to punch and he sounds a bit like Gyles Brandreth: yet another posh-sounding media type whose opinions are no more worthwhile than most of the people who post on here. But as you say, he's probably quite a decent bloke really, unlike Will Self, who irritates the hell out of me just by talking. Quote
Norman Verona Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I spoke to Moss many times when working in a garage next to his flat in the 60's. I sold a computer system and therefore got to know Tony Brookes quite well in the 80's One was a brilliant driver who is a shy, quiet and nice gentleman. The other is a very loud, pompous self publisict. I'll leave you work out which is which. Quote
