darthurs Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7358372.stm How many accidents were caused by the camera being there and drivers panic braking? Dan Quote
DanB Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 It does seem to suggest that a prime cause of accidents is camera vans... Quote
Kevin Wood Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I wonder if there's more mileage in training drivers how to use the brakes without pirouetting off the road? kevin Quote
Hammy Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Yea - so much for ABS ? It looks dangerous sat in the back of the plod wagon too -a rear ender into that seems a possibility and wouldn't do the wooden top a lot of good! Quote
stephenh Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 They don't f*cking help me, thats for sure! Quote
Blatman Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 What gets me is the number of drivers who brake to 30mph regardless of what the limit is. Happens all the time on my way to work in a 50mph zone with camera. Safe it most certainly isn't... Quote
zoso Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 What gets me is the number of drivers who brake to 30mph regardless of what the limit is. Happens all the time on my way to work in a 50mph zone with camera. Safe it most certainly isn't... I've nearly been hit by people braking and changing lanes when they see a camera even though they were below the limit... Speed cameras are lazy enforcement. Get coppers on the roads and out of the back of frigging transits and catch the a********s doing the real harm. Quote
neilb Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Looks to me that police van is not legally parked Quote
spence Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Surprised that the operator didn't do the interview in a balaclava.....He's brave. And thanks to that idiot parking on a hard shoulder or slip road he's just made it even more dangerous. Someone get his number and report him.!!!!!! Quote
