Hi a newbie here

Had a 3 main questions about what to look out for

I am looking for a bike powered Westfield for track days

What should I look for eg factory built etc?

What spec should I look for?

Which bike engine is the better option?

Many thanks  :)

Welcome Jamie

The BEC (Bike Engined Car) thing has been discussed to death so have a search around the forum for some good info/advice

'Factory built' does not necessarily mean 'better built' as your average private build has a lot more time, money and love spent on it

Which engine is a another debate all together and depends entirley on budget, The older Fire Blade Engines are cheap (ish) and will give the BEC buzz but IMO (In my opinion) lack a bit of top end grunt but will still feel quick depending what your used to

Busa's (Hayabusa Powered) are a lot quicker and have a lot more torque but you will pay more for a Busa than a Blade. Some people like Andy 'Raw Hide' Rushworth use the Blackbird engine and to good effect.

So I guess it comes down to what you can afford and what you expect from the car but as usual best advice is to get to you local Westy meet and blag a passenger ride and chat to the owners

Details of your local meet can be found here CLICKEY
