Hi all.

Apologies for dragging this up again. I know this was linked from a thread on the sprinting section, but thought it maybe deserved another bump.

Follow the link from the Curborough website: www.curborough.co.uk

The online form only takes a few minutes  :)

Objections raised...

QUOTE
The Curborough Sprint Course is an important local and national Motorsport venue. It's removal would be a tragedy for far more people than may be housed by the dwellings in the current planning application. Furthermore, leaving it as a Motorsport venue will probably be less damaging to the environment than building 5000 houses. The impact potential of all those school runs, commuters and visitors to the area *must* be more than the current impact of strictly controlled noise and emissions regulations already in place, and that are becoming increasingly more stringent. The course at Curborough lies fallow during much of the winter so it's impact is nil, unlike all those houses that need heating and lighting, or all those cars which will be in use for the majority of the time for the aforementioned commuting and school run duties. Even so called "eco" housing will have a detrimental effect compared to a small area of tarmac surounded by nothing more dangerous than open countryside! This plan appears to be poorly conceived, especially if it is to be labelled as environmentally friendly, which it most certainly isn't when compared to undeveloped open countryside that apparently emit no noxious emissions at all !
