Take the A855 north out of Portree, follow the road past Loch Fada, Storr Lochs and Loch Leathan, stay on the road till you come to Brogaig, turn left up the road signed Sartle, stay on that road as it winds up into the hills, you`ll know when you get to the top as its like driving over a hump-back bridge. Stop at the top and admire the stunning veiws (providing its not p*****g down). Carry on down the other side of the mountain and the road drops you back on the A855 just north of Uig you can then pick up the A87 which takes you back to Portree.

Its a cracking  place Skye.

Done Skye in the Westy 2 years ago, it was fab. When are you heading up ? the guys at Scottish Supercars are doing Applecross on the 19th April if your interested, supposed to be one of the best roads in Britain, a few Westy's and 7's will be there.

Been through the Applecross pass a good few times, just make sure you come in from the south and make sure to check out the warning sign as you get on the road, last time I was there its about 6 foot high and had more excluded vehicle types on it than anything else i`ve ever seen.

:D

here you go, left hand side of the page you can see the sign.

Thanks for the info lads, i went to Skye last year but did not take the westie and the weather was perfect, we took the gilera instead, went on the road you mentioned but the other way, and stopped at the water fall that drops into the sea. Loaded the westie into the trailer today ready for the off, just hope its worth dragging all the way up there, just need one days good weather to make it worth while. So it looks like there arnt any westfields on skye then, i will have to dodge the sheep on my own then Gray.
