Safe and Sound Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 You are absolutely right, it does have the standard Nissan gearbox, and 1st gear is VERY short. Thanks for you advice, its much appreciated, and would be interested in how to "mildy" tune the engine for a bit more BHP if thats ok? At the moment the boost is about 0.7 bar apart from that it's completely standard, with 18k miles from brand new Paul. Quote
Bananaman Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I think that the engine was due to go in one of these Scimitar SST I think it found a much better home! Quote

At the moment the boost is about 0.7 bar apart from that it's completely standard, with 18k miles from brand new Paul. The standard turbo is maxed out at 1 bar and your looking around 200bhp mark at that boost. piper make a fast road cam for the ca18et. You would need to send them a standard cam for you to see 250bhp you would need to swap the turbo for a T28 (T2 is standard) replace the ECU with DTA or similar. replace the injectors / fuel rail and regulator (this would need to be a custom job as there are no after market parts available. Wayne from chipwizzards has extensive knowledge of this engine and could supply / fit and map an ECU for around £800 mark Getting rid of the standard exhaust manifold gives some nice power gains as its a really bad design, This again would need to be a custom job. One of the SST owners (Craig Hughes) managed to make a s13 (200sx) tubular manifold fit with good results http://www.scimitarweb.com/competition/Craig%20Hughes.php lots of info hear http://www.ss1turbo.co.uk/hot_hatch_hunting.htm Quote
