In Australia using the 2.0 litre Primera motor is as popular as using a VX over here. There was an artilce in WW a couple of years ago

Didnt Andy's car have a turbo on as well  ;)

As promised a few pics, i've owned the car for just over four years, and never had a problem with it, Andy from Cat did a fantastic job building it.

This was and still is one of my fav Westfields. I remember seeing it at my first Westfield club night when Andy Rushworth owned it and thought if I could get mine to half that standard I will be happy. Its great to see that Paul’s kept the car in pristine condition since he's taken ownership of it. Well done bud.

Hope you not missing Ethel too much Paul. I know how much she meant to you...

Is that ca18det or sr20det engine? I think it's the former.

I had a couple of Nissan 200sx's, awesome cars.

It's the 1.8 from the early Silvia. Brand new when fitted to this car.

I had a Silvia many moons ago it still is one of my favorite cars that I have owned.

its a ca18et not ca18det the d is for double over head cam.

these are great engines 135bhp as standard 200bhp can be achieved with very little money 250bhp is about as much as you can go with out swapping internals 305bhp is the highest power figure in the UK Silvia owners club

i sold my last Silvia a few years back. it was on a D plate with 30k o the clock it was a minter!

by the looks of the exhaust manifold this engine was to be fitted to a reliant ss1 or Sabra (mirror image of Silvia manifold)

Nissan stopped using the 8v engine in favor of the new twincam engine (200sx) so reliant bought there stock up

My one made about 200bhp by the time I was finished with it and went quite well for its era.

does it use the standard Nissan gearbox? if it does and you where after a different ratios as the 1st is a bit short, some of the higher powered Silvia's use the S13 (200SX pop-up lights) bell housing married up to the s14 (200sx 95 on no pop-ups) gearbox. this box is much stronger and has better ratios
