Bean Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I know the majority of us are IT geeks, but I have a couple of questions about buying and selling. Looking to sell my first property and move up the chain. PM me please if you're in the know. Quote
Asterix Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 If you are self-employed, I can recommend a Mortgage broker who specialises in this and has exceeded my expectations on several occasions (when most others couldn't). Bean Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 I'm not self employed, I work full time for an American CRM company. Just looking for a 2nd opinion on mortgage advice, besides my current lender. Quote
langy Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I used a broker 5 or 6 months ago. Although they found me a fairly good deal, I was in no rush to send a cheque to them for close on £1000 for their services. £1000 is a fair overpayment on anyones mortgage and I would of prefered to do that rather than pay the fee. If you can find someone who get commission purely from the mortgage supplier, then thats gotta be the best deal. Sean Quote
samcooke Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 YHPM. Langy's right, 99% of lenders pay a nice big procuration fee (typically £500-1000), it's only a couple of provincials and mutuals that don't, plus there's more commission on insurances, it's not unusual for a broker to earn £2k from an average mortgage.
