Terry Everall Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Sad blow for WSS and ClassH seeing Richard leave the scene after only one event Like Tommo he has been a regular and successful competitor for for the past 3 years and we have had many a good battles in class F and H Hope to see you around the padock with your tongue hanging out Richard. Maybe a single seater would interest you in future ? Best of luck with the new road car Quote
Mark Stanton Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 It's called life and changes Certainly sad to lose Richard - but he feels the need to move direction and keep in the swing of things he surely has ticked his motorsport box and now life moves on for everyone to new and different things as new targets will appear for you to try and beat Mr E Quote
Delboy Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Great shame Richard is leaving us! We had some cracking battles last year frquently with 0.25 seconds between us all! Del Quote
greenandmean Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Sorry to see you go Richard and good luck in what ever you choose to do instead. Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Just what is Richard going off to do? Quote
Richard Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Wasn't going to post anything until later in the season but I guess now might be an appropriate time. I had intended to compete all this season (especially when I had just upgraded to National A) and review my options at the end of the year. However, I just couldn't get enthusiastic enough at Croft, and to be honest, I've been the same all through winter so I've simply decided that now is the time to pack up and move onto other things. As Mark says - life changes and I guess we all sometimes need to move in other directions to keep us interested and motivated. I'll take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the Speed Series Competitors who have helped me during the last 4 years because as many of you will know, I am rather limited with mechanical knowledge, so all the help and assistance in the times of a crisis has been much appreciated. Maybe I need a buyer who will offer me a dual drive - that way I can still do the driving without having to worry about the mechanics and where to store the car!!! Special thanks go to Terry Everall, Gary Smith and Paul Aspden. There is no doubt, without their help and encouragement I would never have competed in the speed series and would have missed out on the camaraderie and craic that I have enjoyed so much. I had a fantastic season last year in both WSCC & NSCC. Good luck to all of you in the Speed Series, but I'm sure I will be around the paddock to see how things are progressing. Oh, and by the way, there is a very fast, competitive, reliable, easy to drive Westfield up for grabs in the for sale section!!! See you around Off for a beer or three now Richard Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Fair enough mate. Sorry to see you go and wished I could afford your car (unless you fancy a straight swap? ) Hope to see you around Quote

John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Just had a thought. If you are packing it all in then there must be a vacancy on the Ty Croes waiting list coming up? Quote
Richard Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Just had a thought. If you are packing it all in then there must be a vacancy on the Ty Croes waiting list coming up? John, Yes, I am quite low on the waiting list but haven't cancelled just yet. If you fancy buying my car for Ty Croes then I could be open to offers?? Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Ah ha - I knew that would spark a reaction! Give yourself a talking to man and get a grip before someone actually buys it! Quote
