Having problems getting a reading from my speedo. Its an acewell unit. Uses hall effect. Checked distance between magnet and sensor and its under the 8mm max as in instructions. Is there anyway i can check if its sending a signal to the input of the speedo. Any other things i can check. got me mot friday and will be a bit suss if i drive there and it still says zero miles.

The signal from the sensor will be microvolts, much  to small to measure by normal means .

Is there a 12v feed to it from the speedo ?

Also make sure the surface isn't contaminated , It could effect the magnetic PU  :t-up:

As an afterthought , the speedo isnt a requirement for MOT neither is the oddometer afaik  ???

Only 2 wires go to it. Think i might solder the joins instead of a connector as wire is very thin.

Fingers crossed for tomoorrow then

so hopefully should go through ok. Looks silly with the 15's on at the back, never mind though.
