Azzacat Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Just got a Renault Grand Scenic, I need a a twin n/s Tow bar, i can get the bar itself dirt cheap, however my last car i stripped of its tow bar wiring kit and wondered if it would be suitable to use, it a 7 way bypass relay by PCT, Does anyone have acces to reanault wiring dirgrams? i have a couple of queries, is ther a lone 12v fused suplly at the rear for tow bar purposes or is there a multi plug read for a kit to plug intu lurking down the back? If anyone can help a numptie it would be appreciated... TIA Azz Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 You MAY well find that the whole lot runs through the can bus system and does not have seperate wires to pick up on, This is becoming the norm now. I would check with a towbar specialist company as they are now making these available. Try this guide Found this dedicated kit for the car this is what I would use. £60 Click Quote
KerryS Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Towing electrics are like cars now, too effing complicated for their own good. I agree with Barry. I fitted own electrics on a few cars but have given up now. Quote
Azzacat Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 Thanks for the replies, ive seen that kit, it seems pretty generic and perhaps more complicated than i require.and i wonder if i simply need the 7 way relay, on the picasso there was a spare 12v supply if ther is the same i think i can splice up the smart relay, my missus jag was a nightmare, its can bus but -tve switched.... i'll take the mats out the weekend and give it a probing from the rear!!!!
