Karting North East are offering you the unique opportunity to sample the atmosphere and adrenaline rush of a race weekend. Incorporated into our owner driver race day on the third Sunday of each month is our brand new Thunderkart Challenge. You will be racing in our brand new fleet of 390cc Sodi Karts, arriving April 2008, designed to the latest specification for speed and control.  After practice, drivers will participate in a series of heats to determine their starting position in the grand final. Owner drivers will also be racing in a variety of classes enabling you to watch some excellent racing in between your track time. With up to 20 karts all racing at once it promises to be an action packed race day, ideal for those wanting to sample what it’s like to participate in an owner driver race day, but with all equipment provided.  Our experienced mechanics will be available throughout the event, and all karts will be serviced and checked prior to the day.

The first race will take place on Sunday 20th April 2008, with signing in at 9am. Trophies will be awarded at the end of the day to the top three drivers in the final. Points will be allocated to each driver based on finishing position in each heat and final, with a Thunderkart Challenge Series running over 8 rounds from April to November.  The Championship winner will receive entry into the December KNE Championship round in a fully prepared race kart.

The exclusive Thunderkart Challenge is available at £60 per person. Please contact the circuit on 0191 5214050 to book your place. Early booking is recommended as availability is limited. (All drivers must be at least 17 yrs old, and payment is required upon booking).
