MVS Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Hi Mac friendly folks, I have finally after many months of looking, and waiting for model updates, taken the plunge and bought a lovely new MacBook Pro. I am quite happily un-learning the necessary Windoze rubbish in my head and trying to get my head round how you control an Mac and set it up ( to suit me). Anyway have resorted to Firefox as I think Safari is bit poo, and want to use Open office as sadly I need Word compatability, and am b*ggered if I am going to use a Microsoft product. I use Open Office on my PC but have read around a couple of blogs and googled and it seems there are some issues with running it on Leopard. Is there anyone out there who can enlighten me further?? TIA Mike P.S. How do you do the equivalent of PC right mouse clicking on a Mac it's doing me heed in Quote
simonbell Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Open Office should be OK on Leopard, I was running it recently but we have just purchased a copy of the MS Office for mac 2008 for very little money as my wife is back at college www.software4students.co.uk As for the mouse go to system prefs, select mouse and keyboard, click on the mouse tab and set the right hand button to secondary button. This will now work like right click in windows and give yu a context menu. We switched to mac just over a year ago and wouldn't look back, now have an imac and a macbook. Quote
MVS Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 Thanks for that. Do you bother with 3rd party anti-virus/firewall software on yours? Quote
