Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I have got the MOT coming up shortly, I haven't got a Rear View Mirror......... Do I need to get one for the MOT? Quote
stu999 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Presumably you mean interior mirror? You need at least one mirror. Dunno how current this website is, but this tells you what is required. Take note of the comments at the bottom of the page. If your car is registered as a Q, it should be treated as before 1978... Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 Yes Interior mirror....... Quote
reaper Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 According to this As long as you have 2 wing mirrors you're ok Quote
galois Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 From the site: Obligatory mirrors area. an exterior mirror fitted to the offside (right-hand side when seated in the driver's seat), orb. an exterior mirror fitted to the nearside (left-hand side when seated in the driver's seat), orc. an interior mirror What does the "orc." mean? Is that or an interior mirror? If not, where can one buy an interior mirror to fit a westfield? Manufacturer only? Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 The way you put that, it sounds like you know what your talking about. Thanks for everyones input. Quote
stu999 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 You need 2 mirrors for an mot one of which has to be an O/S wing mirror ie. either an interior mirror or a N/S wing mirror along with an O/S wing mirror is an mot pass. Not necessarily - but does depend on age (or rather registration) of the vehicle... as can be seen in the links above As my post above, if a 'Q', you only need one of the 'options' Quote
Bambi Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I've got an interior rear view mirror which has a suction cup so it fixes to the windscreen. It does fall off every now and then but it does give a better view than the wing mirrors and it's cheap. Might be worth considering. Quote
Blatman Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 orb. an exterior mirror fitted to the nearside (left-hand side when seated in the driver's seat), orc. an interior mirrorWhat does the "orc." mean? Is that or an interior mirror? It's Or, C... same as orb shoud be Or, B... it's a spelling/typo type mistake. The sentence should read: Obligatory mirrors area. An exterior mirror fitted to the offside (right-hand side when seated in the driver's seat), or B. an exterior mirror fitted to the nearside (left-hand side when seated in the driver's seat), or C. an interior mirror. It's amazing what difference a capital letter, a comma and some spaces make... Quote
