worst job to do on a westfield

Worst job on the Westy so far was trying to replace the blanking plug for the top of the speedo drive in a type 9.

I found it had popped out when I left a huge trail of g'box oil at Knockhill (lot's of unhappy marshalls and fellow trackdayers.....     )

I was determined to try to fit a new one without dismantling the car but after a lot of swearing and skinned knuckles I gave in to temptation and grabbed a drill and hole cutter........  :durr:    :p

It worked a treat though and doesn't look too bad I suppose...  :p

Worst job ever....... replacing a starter motor on an early model 1.2 Renault 5. It is actually physically impossible.....      :p

worst job to do on a westfield?

Just for Jeff - fitting a V8? :D

No more of a problem than fitting any other engine, other than those fookin exhaust manifold bolts

And the question jeff originally asked was "worst job to do on a "WESTFIELD" so why don't we stick to the question.. Norm its your fault we’re having to wade thro' all the crap about minis, alfasuds blah, blah, blah the question was quiet specific please stop going off topic. This could be a useful thread! ;)  :bangshead:

cant say any bit of my build so far has stood out as being worst.... ???

one of the more annoying bits was a couple of the P clips that i used on my fuel lines as i kept gettting the rivit gun on the rivit wrong so it didnt pop properly.

the ali pannels just required patience when drilling the holes and a large supply of drill bits. perhaps the gerabox dumping oil all over the floor twice? getting the engine in is ok now ive figured out one of my engine mount holes is in the wrong place....
