Westfield SEiW 1600 Mazda MX-5 Single Donor Vehicle Factory Build.

This Westfield was built by Richard Smith, (son of former Westfield owner Chris Smith). It was Westfield's launch model for their Mazda MX-5 single donor vehicle, and was 1st registered to Westfield Sportscars Ltd, and used by them as their vehicle demonstrator. During their period of ownership, it has featured in several motoring magazines and web sites, including:

Kit Car Magazine

Total Kit Car

Evo magazine(twice) and Evo's web site

Westfield World

Pistonheads

I have acquired back issues of all of these magazines which feature this car, and are included in the sale, making this car one of a kind.

The car was built and 1st registered by Westfield in July 2006. It is registered on a G reg "age related" plate this being a single donor vehicle build, therefore avoiding the "Q" plate. I purchased the car from Westfield in May 2007. Current mileage is only 4200 miles. It is in excellent condition which will be confirmed when car is viewed.

Colour is "Dark Blue" with aluminium wheel arch stone guards

Has 30mm lowered floor to give more room for taller drivers.

Interior is fully lined with black vinyl panels and floors covered with black carpets. Seats are black vinyl with navy blue piping. Steering wheel is a small 12" diameter leather Mountney s/w again giving more space for taller drivers, (I am 6'2" and can drive this car with room to spare).

Windscreen, Roll bar, Wishbones and Headlights are black powder coated.

Boot Tonneau, Sidescreens, and Hood all included (ie full wet weather gear)

Thatchem catagory 2, touch key immobiliser is fitted

Windscreen is electrically heated

Dash uses the MX-5 instrument panel and turn stalks which will therefore include:

Speedometer, Rev Counter, Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, and Fuel gauges. Self cancelling indicators, side lights, dipped and mainbeam headlights, intermittent, regular and fast wipers with wash wipes. Also installed into the dash is the switch gear for hazards, fog light and heated windscreen.

Engine is from Mazda MX-5 1600 straight 4 cylinder 16V. This produces 118bhp. It has had a timing belt change at the cars last MOT, (at 3235 miles, June 2007). It starts first time every time, performance and reliability are cracking, (as with all Mazda cars). The gearbox is the standard 5 speed MX-5 type, which again gives outstanding reliability. This drivetrain gives a 0-60 mph time of just 5.5s in this car, and a power to weight ratio in the order of 220bhp/ton. Servicing is straight forward and cheap for an engine of this type, and will give you typical Japanese reliability.

I have written documentation of the cars vehicle history from the DVLA, including some details of the donor vehicle as well.

Taxed till 30th June 2008

MOT expires June 10th 2008

Sale includes previously mentioned magazines, DVLA documents, V5 logbook, MOT certificate, Immobiliser certificate, and the cars build manual. Also included is a scissor jack and C-spanner.

I have enjoyed this car immensely in the short time I have owned it. It has been extremely well looked after, driven only in the dry, and kept in a garage at all times. Unfortunately large running costs for my house mean I must sell it.

I will be more than happy to arrange viewings at mutually convenient times. I live in Stourbridge, West Midlands, only a few miles from junction 4 of the M5. Feel free to contact me if you would like any further information.

This car has so much information available about its history, (DVLA documents, donor vehicle history, magazine articles),  and also by knowing it was expertly built by Westfield themselves, you can buy with confidense.
