Mark Stanton Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 But Scott, why aren't you entered for North Weald Quote
skids Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Oh well ,just got a new set of tyres for the motorhome and picked up from the hotel im working at 200 gallons of old cooking oil to run it on to keep the costs down. should smell of chips but be cheap to run up to Croft Quote
scott beeland Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 But Scott, why aren't you entered for North Weald Too far south with no trailer to get me home....Oh...and I've got enough coat hangers ta Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 QED Mr H You are prepared and able to travel the distance from darn sarf up to Croft - others for their own perfectly reasonable circumstances are unable to Quote
scott beeland Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 picked up from the hotel im working at 200 gallons of old cooking oil to run it on to keep the costs down. How the shiny s***e did you move 200 gallons of oil??? Quote
davidgh Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 B19MC are a good club and organise well run events - Neil Benfield and the rest of the crew worked b****y hard to keep North Weald as an MSA venue and yet the SS can only provide 10 drivers ........ why Mark I agree that B19 provide extremely good organization (I joined a couple of years ago for exactly that reason) -- but (IMHO) NW is the worst track of the year by a considerable margin, so I can fully understand the limited enthusiasm. B19 redeems itself with Cadwell , Hethel , and Bentwaters ( OK an airfield with stonechips, but only Goodwood is faster -- such a track for hooligans ) Quote
skids Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Mark what about reducing the number of events so all ss drivers have to travel more instead of waiting for local events. ps l dont mind driving to events with a bit of a distance involved so unfair to coment Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Mark what about reducing the number of events so all ss drivers have to travel more instead of waiting for local events. tried it last year and got complaints of not enough venues, too far to travel and entries get full up too soon ps l dont mind driving to events with a bit of a distance involved so unfair to coment You say that this year Peter, but you have to admit in all previous years your SS entries have been a bit variable and sometimes sparse Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 B19 redeems itself with Cadwell , Hethel , and Bentwaters and Cadwell's days are potentially numbered with regard to sprint use - as much as it can be filled and enjoyed, the simple fact is sprinting does not generate as much money as a race meeting Hethels a good un, Bentwaters seems to have a mixed review and not too good a turn-out Gotta say personally I would never go to NW and tend to stay away from airfield and flat sprints - but with 25 events on the calendar and best 10 to count surely there is enough variety to appeal to all and gain entry Quote
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Mark what about reducing the number of events so all ss drivers have to travel more instead of waiting for local events. ps l dont mind driving to events with a bit of a distance involved so unfair to coment Peter, I heard from Steve that you were going to doa full Speed Series season this year. When you have done it, you will find almost all of your recent questions will have answered themselves. Quote
davidgh Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Cadwell's days are potentially numbered with regard to sprint use But it's still in this year -- carpe diem P.S. I make it eleven SS entries at NW Quote
