Liam Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 A low boredom threshold is the sign of an active mind... Or of a narrow body with a side filling tank I have never got more than about 20 out of my 2.1. 18 is good but then again I don't seem to have the 'cruise' option fitted to my right foot Quote

it_cud Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 As a regular reader of the forum,it would appear too many people need to get their 40's looked at. Do the sensible thing and ditch them. Fit R1 carbs and forget. or did I just get lucky ? Boggs will do you a nice manifold if you can wait, which I did...alternatively, you could check out Ebay for a similar quality item a wee bit cheaper !! Quote

Blatman Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Yup. Carbs is carbs. A properly set up and balanced set of 40's are every bit as good as bike carbs, but without the need for bespoke manifolds. And DCOE's are not that hard to set up properly. It's a learning curve for sure, but it's not the black art that many think it is. The *only* upgrade from carbs, be they DCOE's or flat slide Mikuni's, is throttle bodies. But it's money... Quote
