VX1600 ht leads

1 of the few things left to get now is a spare set of HT leads for a 16v VX1600 engine. The ends will look like the one's in the picture below. Am no expert here, so would be glad of advice as to a good quality/cost compromise and where to get them. SBD want £50, which feels a bit steep for a set which is going to (hopefully) sit it out in my toolbox for the rest of it's shelf-life. Could go to Vauxhall, but don't want to end up with something bog-standard that will strangle performance (if HT leads do that).

Pete,

would you actually need a FULL SET? I would have though just one of the longest ones would do just to get you out of trouble, therefore, just pop down the scrappy's and pick one up!

fair point.

Re. the "scrappy" reference - are they all the same then, they don't vary in quality.

Also, how could I best test the scrappy one before buying it?

If you got one off a standard VX, then chances are they are standard vauxhall ones which are good enough for a spare.

To test it, I would have thought a multimeter could tell you if it's ok.

Would you be able to sleep at night knowing that they were anything but 100% pukka and new?

John, I'm not sure whether you're extracting the urine because of my likeness for things new and shiny [ :D ] OR if there is a.n.other valid reason for the leads to be shiny and new?

How old are the ones on it?

Reason I ask is you could always use my logic:

Buy some new ones for £50 and you can use the "old" ones as spare  :D Then you get the spare ones for free    ;)

Can you buy them on my behalf and I'll pay you back if I need 'em...?... :D  :D  :D
