Crazy Eddie Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Similar vein: Both me and my sister went on a Ferrari day at Thruxton and although I thought you didn't get enough time in the car and couldn't give it that much stick because the instructor has dual controls, my sister loved it because she was actually driving a Ferrari so I would say that Mrs Perksey would probably really enjoy it. Try contacting the race track directly though because Red Letter Days and the likes add on their little bit don't they? When you compare it to hiring one for the day it seems good value Quote
mjones31 Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Perksy Did a driving day at bruntingthorpe last year in a murcielago . They had loads of cars there you could drive on the day aswell. Did a lap in a ferrari 360 spider with paddle shift . Seem to recall they had DB9,s and the new AM5 V8 Really well set up day and well worth the money IMO. Drivers dream days were the company. HTH Mark Edited to add no dual controls and rev limit was set at 7 . Anyone could drive on the day with a license,if you drove a car that was used for passenger laps there was no rev limit either. hilux Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Hmmmmmmmmmmm, In my (underwhelmed) experience of `car` days. Expect a long talk, track awareness, coupla quick laps by a demonstrator and 3 or 4 laps only in said supercar with a rev limiter. More often than not you`ll also end up with strict instructions to stay in a higher gear than you`d like so even if you floor the throttle its bogged down in the wrong gear and wont accelerate like it should. Ladies might like it but IMHO for me they are expensive and unstimulating (even when someone else pays) Quote
