Volvo D5 as well. Also available with an AWD system in either rather unpleasant (IMHO) XC version or in standard V70 trim. Mine is a 163 bhp but easy to push up as has been said.

If you can't get a low milage 185bhp, I have a speedbuster gismo in the garage that will take a 165 up to 188bhp and is better on fuel consumption.

A what?

I have seen RICA re-maps from Chip Tuning Ltd that will take them to 204/210 but what have you done to yours? Interesting to see consumption improved. With auto box and AWD mine is perhaps not as good as 2WD manual but less diesel use would be good.

Would be a bit concerned over extra torque through auto box especially when towing 1500kg

Hi Kerry have a look at www.speed-buster.co.uk  The gismo is a small alloy box with two leads from it. You dissconect the engine management lead from the inlet manifold plug, then connect the speedbuster in series, if that makes sense. When you take the car in for service you simply remove the box.

Takes a 163bhp to 188bhp and increases torque from 340Nm to 390Nm. I have had it on my last two cars, both V70 D5 SE Autos with no problems at all, including towing an 1840Kg twin wheel caravan all over France at motorway speeds I won't admit to on a public forum.

Hope this is of help

Old model 320D has an exploding turbo.  Mine went c. 80,000 miles despite FSH and a downhill turbo-cooling coast for half a mile to my house.  Common fault I understand.

Thanks, Steve. The auto box gave up on the last V70 so am a little nervous of anything that may cause it be so again. It was £3k for new box or P/x it...........
