Tim Hutchinson Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi, I've recently bought a 1996 Westfield SE with a Burton Tuned 1300cc X-Flow Engine and Mk2 Escort gearbox. After 300 awesome miles the clutch cable snapped 500 metres from my house (very embarassing pushing it past all my neighbours). Unfortunately the previous owner had no knowledge of the build of the car. I'm hoping someone on here will be able to tell me if the clutch cable will be a standard bit of Mk2 Escort kit, or something else and how to identify it? Cheers, Tim Quote
Bean Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi Tim and welcome. I had the same happen at myfirst track day, very embarrassing and annoying. I got a replacement cable from a local motor factors, it's off a late 70's early 80's Ford Capri 1.6 Quote
Tim Hutchinson Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Thanks for that. I've got to say, after spending a bit of time looking around the site I'm really impressed with how friendly everyone is and how knowledgable. I'm looking forward to meeting some other Westfield owners in the flesh. Bring on the summer! Quote
scubajess Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 I used the Mk1 Escort, (without the plastic boss where it fits though the pedal box) - Quinton Hazel Part No. QCC1055 This was for a 1989 kit, I think the later kits used a Mk2 Escort/Capri cable (with the plastic boss) Quote
