Cam Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I seem to remember, in the dim and distant past, you could get a nylon bung to shove in the prop end of a type 9 gearbox to stop all the oil running out. Anyone got one they want to sell? or know were I could get one. If not how about the splined end of a prop that I could modify. Cheers
scott beeland Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Not broken that lovely gearbox have you mate?
sedsy Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Cam i may have some suitable rubber bungs/gaitors ! can you give me some rough measurements etc and i`ll see what i got. Alternatively you could just tip oil all over the drive like Neil and i did with mine!! Or why not fit a remote filler thingy?? Sedsy
CedricTheBrave Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 rubber glove and cable tie serves as a comedy moment as well

perksy Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Cam If Sedsy can't help, give me a size and i'll see if we have some Nylon i can turn to size for you

Crash test dummy Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 IIRC - 32mm or 1 1/4" domestic waste pipe does the job. Cut a short length and seal one end with whatever you have to hand. A rubber bung with RTV sealant did it for me. Crash

John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Just use the front joint of an old sierra propshaft. Plenty in the scrappies. Works for me.
