M11 BRD Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Are there any updates yet? I was wondering the same as I sent a mail a good while ago, and heard nothing. Keep meaning to call them, so will try today Quote
CedricTheBrave Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I am a little dissapointed about the response so far tbh I will be sending another email today Quote
M11 BRD Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Just spoke to the guys at Carbon Mods, the new replacement SEIW wide body moulds are finished , but just waiting for a fitment check before production begins in full. When approved they will be making another set of moulds and doubling up on production. Can't fault the commitment to get it right They said a group email update will be sent out shortly Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Cool just need an update. Communication makes all the difference whether good or bad news. Quote
Steve (stevel) Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Anybody any news I aint recieved a group email from them was hoping to have them fitted for April Quote
PeP Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I visited them the other day and the latest fitment guards should be going out this week(standard width detachables) and they look good, they took the measurements off my wide detachables and hope to have them soon too. They have my phone number so I will go over to try them for fit as soon as they are ready. All I need now is about £1k for carbon bits ,I reckon the FW nose would be nice Quote

cidersurfer Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I've got it! I personally would prefer to wait until the moulds are right and have a first class fit. Thanks for the info Quote
judder Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Would also prefer to wait, I can collect at Stoneleigh if they are ready by then + my cylce wings !. Stephen Quote
StuartMackay Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I did the fit check on the first from the new mould on two vehicles at the weekend (one kit built and one factory build), LHS fitted ok, but RHS had gaps in the critical contours at the bodyside> I sent Paul a photo report of findings and clearly with carbon, you just cant warm them up and hope to get them to pull in without resorting to mechanical fixing. Paul's aim is for them to fit without resorting to rivets, hence their (justifiably right) aim for perfection in getting the contours right. Quote
CarbonMods Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Got everyone's emails. Thanks for the understanding and aplogies if it seemed we wern't being forthcoming with information. We kept thinking we'd got it cracked but there was always another issue. For the record, I should have put that it was Stuart Mackay who provided us the full details on the latest fit. Ross Napier has, in the past. I got mixed up as it's been Paul that's been dealing with the fit issues and speaking to the customers. On the Stoneleigh front we did pull our first perfect pre-preg half-door out of the mould today (Boney saw the almost right one at the weekend) so at least we'll have one new product in the back for Stoneleigh ;-) Quote
