Tubs Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I have recently acquired a nice blue Westfield which has been beautifully maintained but it doesn't have a tonneau cover. I have done a search Blatters, honest guv, but the main name given is Soft Bits but I have spoken with them and they will only fit a tonneau if they have the car to measure etc. So does anyone know of a good tonneau maker who'll make one based on measurements? - or any other solution? Cheers Tubs Quote
perksy Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Strange, thought 'soft bits for sevens' had Templates for most makes of 7 type car and they could supply the Tonneau without the rivetts fitted, leaving you to fit them for yourself Evenin' Stu Quote
Bean Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Could have sworn I replied to this thread saying Westfield? Quote
Tubs Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Err, the Factory? I've been led to believe, by some of the comments I saw whilst searching, that they aren't of the highest quality. Tubs Quote
KerryS Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 They're not bad really, yes there are better but £££££££££ Quote

Tubs My factory tonneau is very good quality, no complaints here. I had it modded by Soft bits to fit around my RAC roll bar and race seats, they did a superb job, they like to take measuremesnt as they will make a 'made to measure' item....which in my book is the best option They show at Stoneleigh so if you can wait, you could let them measure your car at the show, that's what I did Quote

KerryS Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 But unfortunately a bit of a haul from Jersey for the poor chap!! And since they can't go at more than 40mph he'd be a liability over here Quote

Tubs Fair point....as I said my factory tonneau is very good quality so that is probably the way to go. You don't live in St John's do you the last time I was in Jersey I saw a nice Westy parked outside a house near Sion. Quote

I've not taken my car to Zion, and unusual to hear of another Westy in the island. Caterhams are as common as muck. Too many millionaires I suppose. How do you know Jersey? Tubs Quote

Tubs It was a blue westy that I saw...I also saw a green V8 at Samares manor a few years ago. I go over on business once a year...dealing with all the garden centres, plant retailers etc etc. It's a lovely island, I always stay at Rozel bay and really enjoy it, I've made a few friends on the island so it's a bit of a treat really Quote
Tubs Posted December 14, 2007 Author Posted December 14, 2007 I only bought the blue one a few weeks ago and it's been garaged since. Drop us a line next time you're over, and we can chat about Westy's and gardens. Tubs Quote
