Hi All

I know this is way off topic but.

Me dryer has dropped its belt on removal of the side panel it appears the idler gear bearing (if you could call it that) is knackered how do you replace its all plastic covers without screws

Its a Hotpoint CTD80

Any help appreciated

remeber to ensure it's at TDC before changing belt  :D

It's called built in obsolescence - they design parts to wear out that you can't replace.  Same thing happened on our tumble drier after 5 years - plastic pulley went out of shape and kept throwing belt off.  Couldn't repair it and couldn't buy a spare.  So new tumble drier.

Karl you really do live on the edge! Did you get the new curtains up? and did you manage to use the  receipe for sweet plumb pudding you and muttley were talking about the last time  I saw you?

Thanks for the responses (mostly)

Ordered the new parts and a new belt.

Anyone know whether you need to pull back the spindle somehow to get the belt off

thanks Bernie, if the motor goes can always rig it up to the westy over winter what would it rev too.  ;)

Just put the washing on yer roll bar and blat it dry  :p
