Underground Ernie Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Looks like the thermostat has packed up on the Mondeo, Mr Ford wants £80 for one. Apparently you have to replace the housing as well as the thermostat. Is this right? So I thought I would ask on here to see if anybody has a unwanted spare before dishing out the £80+ Thanks Mitch
Cam Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Hi Mitch Is it this one as fitted to the 2.0L with the eleccy connector....if so I think I should have one in the garage. I'll have a look tonight Cheers
Underground Ernie Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 Hi Cam, Yep thats the one. Let me know how much you want for it, if you find it. Thanks Mitch
Glen H Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Cam - if you have one spare is it because you removed it & fitted something else in its place ?? I have fitted the Racline Water rail / Thermostat system - I then broke out the thermostat from the Ford housing in your piccy, but noticed the other day that it's leaking around the Electrical connection / gasket. Thought I'd heard the Mazda unit was just a standar mechanical stat without the electrical connection.
Cam Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Hiya Glen Swopped mine for the Cosworth thermostat assembly (part number PR6595) all in it was £37. Comes complete and just bolts straight in place and I thought it was a dam reasonable price. I also heard that the Mazda was a mechanical stat, tried a Mazda main dealer but can't remember why I went for the Cossy one instead, I think there was lots of Mazda variations and we couldn't figure out which one it was. Cheers
Glen H Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Cheers Cam - will call in at Fords and sort one
