Duratec Thermostat Housing

Looks like the thermostat has packed up on the Mondeo,  Mr Ford wants £80 for one. :bangshead:

Apparently you have to replace the housing as well as the thermostat. ??? Is this right?

So I thought I would ask on here to see if anybody has a unwanted spare before dishing out the £80+

Thanks

Hi Cam,

Yep thats the one.

Let me know how much you want for it, if you find it.

Thanks

Cam - if you have one spare is it because you removed it & fitted something else in its place ??

I have fitted the Racline Water rail / Thermostat system - I then broke out the thermostat from the Ford housing in your piccy, but noticed the other day that it's leaking around the Electrical connection / gasket.

Thought I'd heard the Mazda unit was just a standar mechanical stat without the electrical connection.

Hiya Glen

Swopped mine for the Cosworth thermostat assembly (part number PR6595) all in it was £37. Comes complete and just bolts straight in place and I thought it was a dam reasonable price.

I also heard that the Mazda was a mechanical stat, tried a Mazda main dealer but can't remember why I went for the Cossy one instead, I think there was lots of Mazda variations and we couldn't figure out which one it was.
