Phssthpok Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 Conversation overheard in a bar: Westfield owner #1: Drink? Westfield owner #2: Pint of bitter, please. Westfield owner #1: Have lager, slips down faster. Westfield owner #2: b*****k*, it’s not the beer it’s the glass that counts. Give me a pint of bitter in a straight glass. Westfield owner #1: Rubbish, you can drink faster with a pint mug, the handle gives you more control of the tilt. Westfield owner #2: Nonsense, the dimples in a pint mug push up the drag factor. Westfield owner #1: That’s why I said drink lager, it’s got more bubbles and bubbles mitigates the friction over the glass surface. Westfield owner #2: Since when? It’s not the bubbles it’s the fluid’s viscosity that causes friction. Westfield owner #1: Tell you what, have a light and bitter in a pint mug. Westfield owner #2: Ok, but make sure the light ale goes in second, wouldn’t want the bubbles at the bottom. Westfield owner #1: Crisps? Westfield owner #2: Cheese and onion, please. Westfield owner #1: Why not try salt and vinegar….. Quote
