wiz 1 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Any body watching this? last nights episode was especially good. The stuff about the school massacre was terrible 60 villagers macheted to death including 20 toddlers, who didn't understand what was happening when told to run. Truly harrowing. Then the stuff about the tribal circumcision, young lads no anesthetic, any sign of pain/emotion sign of weakness and an embarrassment to their father. Quote
westfield_bumble Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Not watched it yet. Got it recorded though. Really enjoyed the long way round but not got into this series yet. Quote
Martin Keene Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Top Telly... Makes you realise you small the world really is and despite being seperated by religon, race, etc human beings are not that different regardless of where they come from. I have Long Way Round on DVD and I will be buying this when it is released as well. Quote
cidersurfer Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 It's great. Managed to see most of it. Libya was interesting, particularly as they wouldn't let the 'merkins in! Quote
Pilot Pete Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Dont think its as good as the long way round trip, but still good. Like what they say, they always seem to be "pushing on" and not seeing a lot, thats whats made it not as good IMO. Quote
oldman Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 There was a great book written in the 80's by Ted Simon called Jupiters Travels about his 4 year trip around the world on a Triumph Bonnie. No camera or back up crews for his trip.Just him and his bike.Great read Quote

It hasn't been as good as Long Way Round yet, and that is down to the mileage they have been covering. They have not allowed theselves enought time for sightseeing. Hopefully now they have got that all important ferry it will change a bit. And there is still a hell of a long way to go... Quote
