Not for me chaps, don't like to spend more than £500 on my tin tops

Its for a mate of mine who knows nowt about cars and has asked my advice.

He's after a 350z, he's got about 15k to spend but he's not really sure of the following:

best options to look out for,

best engine,

best place to buy (private, independant, main dealer),

uk or import and if import what the implications may be

Like I say I don't know much about them or spending that sort of cash on a tin top so would be grateful for any advice you may be able to pass on and any things we should look out for.

TIA  :t-up:

Don't give him any ideas jeff. well not till he's half way through this transplant anyway.

If you get chance Jeff a nod with your friendly dealer would be good.

Is there many imports around? Non of those in the trader seem to mention they are? My mate mentioned imports so he must have seen some advertised.

IMO from recent browsing at cars there doesn't seem to be the savings there used to be on imports is this right?

Keep the comments coming chaps most grateful for those so far.

a4gom, have a look at the adverts on the Autotrader link, if they say (Fairlady) or "inc SVA" against the price then they're definitely imports  :t-up:  I can see several in that list so he needs to make sure whether any car he looks at is an import or not  ;)

Thanks for that,  If I had seen SVA I would have questioned it but would never of known the fairlady bit, what does that mean?

I thought the Fairlady was the Jap name for a Skyline ???
