Buzz Billsberry Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 As of yesterday my p.c on start up comes up with the following security alert "The security information is invalid or has been modified the program will be terminated" Then I press 'ok' and the message disappears an the pc is ready to use & functions normally I've not added nor changed anything on the p.c for a good while now . Its running windows 2000pro Any ideas? Buzz Quote
RichB Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Could this be associated with your PC's attempt to change the time due to the end of summertime? Check to see if the clock has updated successfully. Quote
bhouse Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 If you have any software that has a time limit (eg a 30 day trial) it's possible that a Windows update has modified a file that the trial software uses to work out how many days it has left to run. The new date will then cause it to report invalid security information. If that's the case try uninstalling the trial software and see if you still get the message. Quote
Blatman Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Does the pop up give any clues as to the identity of the programme causing the failure? If not, tracking it down is going to be tedious... Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted October 30, 2007 Author Posted October 30, 2007 Blats no thats the annoying thing its just as describe in the post, Si yes I do have Ulead video which I haven't used and its on trial I thing but's been on the system for a while now. I don't use it as I've just been given Vegas 5(not installed yet tho') still running Vegas 4.0 Buzz P.S just checked and there's 'no days' trial left on Ulead video. I guess I just uninstall to stop problem do u think?? Quote
bhouse Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Probably worth uninstalling the Ulead thingy. Vegas is much better anyway... Quote
