after 4 years   and many £££££ later,iv finally driven my 1.8 zetec seiw. its not been tested yet,so i took it somewhere with no people around  :suspect: its been roughly set up by the boss which is in to rallying his tiger/manta/and a project that i cant tell you about yet.i also had a chap called Des Hammill have a look at my carbs,he has writen many books on tuning weber carbs and dellorto,he enjoys working on them and has done for 20 plus years, and has picked up many probllems with the carbs that i bought from the factory, these problems didnt bother me as i have learnt so much.  any way back to my car,and only 3 words can discibe it ''****** mind blowing ''.i didnt think it would have gone this fast,it picks up speed so quickly and spins like a chunt, and i havnt even had it rolling road tuned yet or suspension set up.iv never driven a car this quick before.and i even let a co worker drive it ,and he very much made me S*** my self  :p we both got out of the car shaking with fear.so its a big thumbs up from me with a b****y big smile on my face    :)

Glad you enjoyed yourself and congrats on getting it 'nearly' finished ;)  :xmas:

now, (I'm going to sound like my Dad now) please be careful when you do take it out on a public road (ie you know, one where people are around  :suspect:  ;)   ) as all too often at this time of year guys (even ones relatively experienced in these cars) end up wrapping their cars round lamposts or twatting them against kerbs on roundabouts or just going through hedges backwards due to wet slippery roads covered in mashed up wet leaves, diesel and God knows what else      :bangshead:

Gain experience gradually and if possible get it on a track day (preferably an airfield type day) fairly soon and throw it around to find out what it does when it lets go (and how easily it can let go if you get it wrong)    finally, enjoy it but remember that not everyone else on the road is looking for a ground hugging missile  ;)  :blues:  :D

Hey there, I be the lucky co worker mentioned!  :D  I must say, being a westfield virgin, this car is the most amazingly fun car I have ever driven! words really cannot say how impressed I was with her!  :t-up:  Baz you've done a brilliant job of putting her together. Credit where its due an all that.  Also  sorry for totally ripping the s***e out of her, she is so addictive. Anyway you did tell me to give her some stick! Will get those videos off my phone to you on mon.

:t-up:  just be carefull, its all to easy to get carried away and bend it.  Once you've bent it, it's like upgradeitus, except you don't get to revel in increased performance after the months spent back in the garage.
