craig-c Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Tigger, Has a very dash setup system on his web page that lets you play around with switches and clock's Here have a look what it will look like before hand. Hope this help's Quote
Guest Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 What's the best method of fitting the carbon mods dash? I'm imagining..... 1. Take off aeroscreen 2. Cut steering wheel hole in dash 3. Put dash on scuttle, draw around it 4. Jigsaw it 5. Fit dash, screw to scuttle 6. Lay out instruments, drill holes I don't know much about CF, but noticed my dash has a green layer in the middle between the two CF surfaces. Does this look OK once cut & fitted from the side? Quote
DavidC Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Won't the jigsaw tear the CF to pieces? It's have thought a dremel with a suitable attachement would be safer. I know Carbon Mods have some bits on their website about which tools to use when trimming the CF parts. Quote
wipper Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 You'll need a Perma Grit jigsaw blade and sanding block ideally. I'm about to do the same thing so a bit nervous myself! I got mine with the dash from Carbonmods. Cost about £20 total. Quote
Norman Verona Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I use a Dremel with a cutting disc and a file to finish the edges. Hole cutters for the gauges. Cut undersize then file out to fit. Always wear a mask when cutting. Quote
