wipper Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Here is a layout option for a combined tach/speedo unit. It’s a little tough to see in this photo, but the gauges in the center of the dash are angled towards the driver. Please note: I have reversed the photo to avoid any confusion about the location of the steering wheel -John John, can't see too well from the pic, but what are the 3 gauges or "clocks" behind the wheel? Quote
JohnCh Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 It's a Motogadget tach/speedo in the center, and the two gauges to the side are Racetech mechanical units: water temp and a combined oil pressure & temp. -John Quote
Mark Stanton Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 QUOTE perhaps this should be faq - "why does everybody giggle when someone asks how to lay out a dash?". A very good point and well made I reckon it was the flowers and reflection of lightbulbs that tipped it over the edge Quote
flat_four Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I've been searching for another cracking dash from a few months ago - it was a brown leathery affair on a yellow seven of some kind (on Ebay?) and I remember someone describing it as a stretched foreskin or something. Cracked me up at the time and now I can't find it!!!! Would love to see it again! Anyone??? Quote

JohnCh Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 The buttons on the wheel look intersting ! Would like to know what do they do , where did you get them from and how are they connected ? The buttons are the IP series from Apem. The green buttons operate the turn signals and hazards through this device. The yellow button controls the menu in Motogadget’s LCD panel. The red button is a placeholder until the latching version of the switch shows up. It will then operate the main beams via a relay. The switches connect to a coiled cord via a multi-pin connector located inside the steering wheel hub. I have extra room in there because I also have a 1.5” spacer between the hub and the steering wheel to bring that a little closer to me. -John Quote
